Stephen Dawson has agreed to join Leyton Orient when his contract with Bury expires on 1st July.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who played 97 times for Bury, rejected the offer of a new contract with the Shakers and is set to sign a two-year deal at Brisbane Road.

Dawson told Orient's official website: "It's a dream come true to make the step up to League One and I'm delighted to have agreed to sign for Leyton Orient.

"Everyone wants to play at the highest level that they can and it's great that I've got the chance to step up a division with Orient.

"It was a tough decision to leave Bury - I've got a lot of time for the gaffer Alan Knill and I've got good friends there, but at the same time I can't wait to get started here.

"The gaffer has brought in a few players already and I know he wants to push on from where we finished last year so it's an exciting time.

"I'm the kind of player who always gives 110% - I never give in and I class myself as a winner."
