Paul Peschisolido admits he was not surprised that Burton Albion missed out to Exeter City for the signing of Artur Krysiak.
Poland Under-19 international goalkeeper Krysiak made 40 appearances for the Brewers whilst on loan from Birmingham last season.
However, Krysiak rejected a contract from Burton in order to sign for League One side Exeter and Peschisolido was philosophical after failing to secure a deal for the keeper.
"It didn't surprise me that other clubs moved in on Artur once he got his release from Birmingham," Peschisolido told the Burton Mail.
"I have a high regard for him because he's a good lad who trains well, and I think he has all the qualities needed to make a really good keeper.
"That's why I wanted to keep him at Burton because he is going to get better and better as a player.
"But I was half-expecting that we would lose out to a bigger club, and you certainly can't blame Artur for wanting to progress up the ladder and test himself at a higher level."
