QPR have confirmed that Damion Stewart had a 'stable night' in hospital following a sickening clash of heads.
The Rangers defender was stretchered out of Saturday's 2-0 win over Crystal Palace after colliding with Eagles forward Calvin Andrew.
The incident, which occurred during the opening exchanges at Selhurst Park, left everyone concerned for Stewart's wellbeing.
Those fears were heightened when it emerged that he had suffered a fractured skull and bleeding into the brain.
However, the 29-year-old is now over the worst and is taking the first tentative steps on the road to recovery.
Rangers head physio Paul Hunter told the club's official website: "Damion had a stable night in a private London hospital. He has seen a neurosurgeon and will undergo further tests tomorrow (Monday).
"I am pleased to report that the bleeding into the brain has stopped but we will continue to monitor his status on an hourly basis.
"Damion has shown normal neurological signs throughout, which is very reassuring."
