Carlisle United forward Joe Anyinsah could be sidelined for six weeks as he is likely to require surgery to solve his injury troubles.
Anyinsah has been hampered by a lower stomach/groin injury of late and an injection has failed to improve the situation.
He is due to visit the surgeon on Tuesday when Carlisle will find out how long the 25-year-old will be missing from Greg Abbott's plans.
Physio Neil Dalton told the club's official website: "He is going to need surgery sooner rather than later so we are going to get him in with a specialist.
"It's a similar operation to the one that Gav Rothery has just had so, depending on how it all heals, he could be out for anything between three and six weeks.
"We won't know the time frame for definite until we get him back to work."
A six-week lay-off would see Anyinsah miss the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final against Southampton at Wembley later this month.
