Defender stays, but Elford-Alliyu returns to West Brom

Hereford United have extended the loan deal of West Bromwich Albion defender Paul Downing until the end of the season. Downing joined the League Two club on an initial month-long deal in late January and he has made five appearances to date. The 18-year-old has impressed Bulls boss John Trewick sufficiently to be kept on at Edgar Street for the remainder of the campaign. However, Downing's fellow West Brom youngster Lateef Elford-Alliyu has returned to The Hawthorns following his month with Hereford. Elford-Alliyu made just one appearance for the Bulls against Port Vale and has not had his loan extended by Trewick.
