Oldham are keen to extend the stay of Millwall striker Jason Price when his loan spell finishes this week.
The Lions forward has started to show the kind of form which saw him become a fans' favourite at Championship side Doncaster, but he is set to return to the Den after the Latics face Norwich on Saturday.
However, Oldham boss Dave Penney is confident of extending the Welshman's loan period at Boundary Park.
Penney told skysports.com: "We've spoken to Kenny (Jackett) at Millwall and also Jason, who is enjoying his time here, and when the loan comes to an end it looks like we will be able to extend his stay because all parties are happy with it at the moment.
"Obviously, nothing is certain until everything is signed, but hopefully that will all be sorted at the weekend."
The Latics face a trip to promotion-chasing Leeds on Tuesday night, where they stunned the hosts last season with a Chris Taylor-inspired 2-0 victory and the tricky winger looks to have shaken off a hip injury as he aims for a repeat performance at Elland Road.
Penney added: "Chris took a whack on the hip, which he had a problem with two or three weeks ago, but he is fine now and trained ahead of the game, so he is available for selection.
"He played very well there last season, but that will only make it more difficult for him to shine this time because they know what he is capable of now."
