On-trial full-back also claims interest from Carlisle

Joe Heath is hoping to be offered a contract by Exeter City after claiming Carlisle United have also shown an interest. The full-back is available on a free transfer after being released by Nottingham Forest and is training at St James Park with former City Ground team-mate James Reid. Carlisle are also keen to take Heath on trial, but the 21-year-old aims to use a reserve game next week to prove his credentials to Exeter boss Paul Tisdale. Heath told the Express & Echo: "I would like to come and stay down here. It's a nice place and I would definitely like to live here and play for the club. "Before I came here I was supposed to go to Carlisle for a game, but it got called off so I decided not to wait and came down here. "I think Carlisle are still trying to get me to play a game there, but there is a game on Tuesday which I think I will be playing in, so I will wait to see how that goes before I do anything else. "I can see myself staying down here because it's a nice club, they are a good bunch of lads and the manager seems nice, so we will see what he says."
