Port Vale have extended the loan deal of Craig Davies from Brighton & Hove Albion, who have released David Livermore.
Davies arrived at Vale Park on a month-long deal in mid-January and he will now spend the rest of the season with the League Two club.
He scored his first goal for the club in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Hereford and manager Micky Adams was keen to extend his stay.
"If we hadn't extended Craig's loan deal, his maximum stay would have been 93 days, which wouldn't take us up to the end of the season," Adams told The Sentinel.
"We're happy to have him and, once we get him fully fit, he will continue to improve."
Meanwhile, Brighton have confirmed Livermore has left the Withdean Stadium after his contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
Livermore's deal was due to expire in the summer, but he has moved on with immediate effect after making just one first-team appearance this season.
