Skysports.com understands Wycombe have had a joint bid for Scott Donnelly and Marvin Morgan rejected by Aldershot.
The Chairboys are keen to bolster their ranks before the January transfer window slams shut and boss Gary Waddock, who used to manage the Shots, had identified the duo as suitable targets.
Midfield ace Donnelly has been with Aldershot since 2007, helping them win promotion into the Football League in 2008.
He is a forward-thinking playmaker and has shone for the Shots since they made the step up into the fourth tier.
Burly frontman Morgan signed for the Shots in the summer of 2008 and has become a first-team regular at the Recreation Ground since then.
League One strugglers Wycombe felt the pair could add some much-needed firepower to their ranks as they look to steer a path to safety.
However, Aldershot are unwilling to do business and have snubbed Wanderers' advances.
