Robins defender to feature in Oldham reserves clash
Swindon Town defender Hasney Aljofree is on trial at Oldham Athletic in a bid to earn his second spell at Boundary Park.
Aljofree will feature in the Latics' reserve team game with Middlesbrough on Wednesday after his agent set up a trial as he seeks a new club for his client.
The 31-year-old has not featured for the Robins since suffering a serious knee injury over a year ago, but will be handed a chance to impress with Oldham.
He played five league games for the Latics in 2007 when on loan and his agent, Clive Hart, is working hard to find a club in the North West of England where Aljofree would like to relocate.
"Hasney wants clubs in this area to be aware he is looking to return, and his agent asked if he could have a game in our reserves," said Oldham chief executive Alan Hardy.
The defender's chances of sealing a permanent switch to Boundary Park could be enhanced by the injury blow to Krisztian Timar, who must return to parent club Plymouth Argyle to undergo surgery.
The Hungarian only joined Dave Penney's squad at the beginning of the month but his stay has been cut short with a tear to his hamstring effectively ending his season.
The 31-year-old only made two appearances for the club and picked up the injury in his second outing against Tranmere last week.
