Walsall manager Chris Hutchings says he will make the decision on whether Alex Nicholls is allowed to go out on loan.
The 22-year-old striker has not started a game since October and speculation over his future has started to build over recent weeks.
But Hutchings claims he has received no bids for Nicholls, who he will only allow to leave the Banks's Stadium on favourable terms.
"Whether I decide to let him out on loan is up to me," the Saddlers boss told the Express & Star.
"If I think he's more valuable to us at the club he'll stay here. It's as simple as that and he knows that.
"I've got to do what's right for this football club. Individuals might get the hump if they can't do this and that, but I'm making sure this football club is run properly.
"If I say you're not going out on loan, you're not going out on loan."
