Cooper keen to bring in Arsenal full-back

Peterborough United manager Mark Cooper is hoping to agree a deal to sign Arsenal full-back Kerrea Gilbert. Cooper is in the market for defensive reinforcements after Southend United stopper Simon Francis rejected a move to London Road last week. Gilbert was linked with a loan move to Posh in November and Cooper remains interested in signing the 22-year-old. The right-back is out of contract at the end of the season and Cooper believes Gilbert would be a valuable addition to his ranks. "It was disappointing to miss out on Simon, but Kerrea would be an excellent player for our squad," said Cooper. Gilbert has made three appearances for Arsenal this season after spending last term on loan at Leicester City, having enjoyed previous loan spells at Cardiff City and Southend.
