Brighton have strengthened their squad with the signing of Spanish defender Inigo Calderon.
Calderon is a free agent after leaving Alaves last summer and has spent time training with the Seagulls.
The 28-year-old right-back has now signed a deal to keep him at the Withdean Stadium until the end of the season.
Manager Gus Poyet is pleased to bring in such a versatile and experienced performer, who was captain at Alaves and made more than 250 appearances during his time in Spain.
"We're delighted to sign Inigo until the end of the season," Poyet told the club's official website.
"He's a right-back, but also gives us options in different positions.
"He is powerful, good on the ball and brings something different to the club.
"I've known him for some time, and once we'd seen him train and play in a practice match it confirmed he was fit and that he would be a good addition to the squad."
