Goalkeeper could make loan switch permanent

Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope believes goalkeeper Steve Phillips could complete a permanent move to Crewe in the January transfer window. The experienced shot-stopper joined the Railwaymen on loan last month after an earlier stint at Shrewsbury. And Gresty Road boss Dario Gradi has already signalled his intention to secure Phillips on a longer-term deal. Trollope told the Bristol Evening Post: "Steve has gone out and played games, which is what he wanted and what we wanted. "He went to Shrewsbury and did well there and has continued that at Crewe. "We will be looking at what's available for Steve and the club in January and we are certainly open to offers."
