Bristol Rovers have been handed a boost with the news that midfielder Jeff Hughes is available for Saturday's clash with Swindon.

The midfielder was thought to be suspended for the match after receiving a yellow card in the weekend defeat at Colchester.

But it has been confirmed that he was booked by mistake in the win at Southampton in September and is therefore still only on four yellow cards for the season.

Rovers manager Paul Trollope told the Evening Post: "We believed that we were going to be missing Danny (Coles) and Jeff for the Swindon game, but as it turns out it's only Danny.

"Jeff has only got four yellow cards because there was a bit of a misunderstanding in the away game at Southampton when the referee booked Jeff instead of Byron Anthony, which was later overturned."
