Brighton are anxious to discover the extent of defender Andrew Whing's groin problem.
The 24-year-old was replaced at half-time in the 1-0 victory over Wycombe on Saturday and is doubtful for the upcoming trip to Carlisle.
He has a dead leg but is also suffering from a groin problem that could be linked to a hernia operation he underwent four years ago.
"It's the dead leg that is stopping him, but he has had a scan with regard to his groin," Seagulls boss Russell Slade said on the club's official website.
"He will see a specialist but we don't think it's too serious. There might be a bit of wear and tear, so we'll have to monitor the situation and see what the specialist says."
