Youngster moves to Spotland in two-year deal

Rochdale have completed the signing of defender Matt Flynn on a free transfer after a successful spell on loan at the club. The 20-year-old signs a two-year deal at Spotland after already playing against Aldershot, Cheltenham and Rotherham this season. Having impressed during his loan period, Dale boss Keith Hill decided to offer the former Macclesfield player a permanent deal. And Flynn was delighted to put pen-to-paper: "I'm really happy to get it all over with now," he told the club's official website. "When I first came on loan I wasn't expecting to sign permanently at all. I was set to sign for Rhyl in Wales when I got a call saying Rochdale wanted to sign me for a month on loan, so I was delighted at that and jumped at the chance to come here. "The gaffer said I'd done well here and Macclesfield let me go, so I'm really happy at the moment. I'm really happy here and I hope we can get promoted."
