Brighton have handed a trial to three players including former England striker Michael Ricketts.
Ricketts, former Brighton left-back Dan Harding and midfielder Danny Spiller have all linked up with the Seagulls for training.
The trio could be involved in Tuesday's friendly with Havant & Waterlooville as Seagulls boss Russell Slade casts an eye over them before deciding whether or not to pursue his interest.
"I will take all the players available to me, because I believe minutes on the pitch now are important. That's all part of our preparation," said Slade.
"I calculate over the six games how many minutes each player has had. That's an important part of it.
"It is something I have done more recently, because I think you need a more scientific approach to it. It's not just about preparing the XI but the whole squad."
