Swindon Town have confirmed the signing of former Leeds United captain Jonathan Douglas on a free transfer.

Douglas had been looking for a new club after not being offered a new contract by Leeds at the end of last season.

Skysports.com revealed last month that the Robins were leading the chase for the Republic of Ireland midfielder.

The League One club have now wrapped up the signing of the 27-year-old, who will link up with his new team-mates for training on Friday.

He becomes the second Ireland international to join Danny Wilson's side this week after Alan O'Brien arrived on a free transfer following his departure from Hibernian.
