Skysports.com understands Leyton Orient have handed a trial to former Ipswich defender Matt Richards.
Richards is looking for a new club after being released by Ipswich at the end of last season.
The 24-year-old spent most of last season on loan at Brighton and impressed at the club before Roy Keane decided to let him leave Portman Road.
Orient boss Geraint Williams is looking to bolster his squad and Richards is an attractive proposition as he is a free agent.
Richards will join Orient for pre-season training and if he impresses he could win a move to Brisbane Road.
