Coleman doubts goalkeeper arrival

Accrington Stanley have conceded defeat in their attempts to sign Leeds United's back-up keeper Alan Martin. Stanley are on the look-out for a new shot-stopper following former No.1 Kenny Arthur's summer departure to Rochdale. Manager John Coleman hoped to sign Martin permanently or on loan to help fill the void following his successful spell with Barrow last season. However, Leeds are against letting Casper Ankergren's back-up depart following David Lucas' close-season move to Swindon. "Leeds won't let Martin out until they get another keeper in," he told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. "We can't hang around forever." Coleman also doubts whether Accrington can match Stockport striker Matty McNeil's wage demands, adding: "I don't think that one's going to happen unfortunately."
