Sean Gregan has returned to Oldham and signed a new deal with the club.
The vastly experienced 35-year-old was initially released by Oldham last month.
But after talks with new boss Dave Penney - he has now returned to Boundary Park on a one-year deal.
Gregan, a former captain of The Latics, has made over 80 appearances for the club since joining from Leeds in 2006.
Gregan is the fourth signing made by Penney since he took charge following on from Rob Purdie, Jon Worthington and Joe Jacobson.
