Defender agrees contract extension

Defender Danny Swailes has agreed an extension to his current contract with MK Dons. Swailes, 30, has penned a six-month extension with Roberto Di Matteo's side with a view to staying until the end of the season. After joining the Dons from Macclesfield in August 2007, he made an immediate impact in helping the club gain promotion from League Two. He was, however, restricted to just two appearances last term after suffering an Achilles injury which kept him sidelined for most of the season. Now on the road to recovery, Swailes admitted his delight in agreeing a new deal, telling the club's official website: "I can't wait to get back. "I have waited a long time to play a game of football and hopefully that will be at the start of the season."
