Brentford midfielder David Hunt has signed a new two-year contract with the League One new boys.

The 26-year-old joined the Bees on a short-term deal in January and played a key role in helping the club to the League Two title.

A number of eye-catching displays left a lasting impression on boss Andy Scott and Hunt has now become a fully fledged member of the Griffin Park set-up.

"I was pleased with my performance when I came in for the last third of the season," he told the club's official website.

"I'd been patient on the bench and was perhaps lucky to come in when Kevin (O'Connor) got injured, but I felt I took my chance and it was great to end the season on a high.

"I'm grateful to be rewarded for those performance with a two-year contract."
