Skysports.com understands Millwall defender Zak Whitbread is a shock target for Belgian side Racing Genk.
Whitbread, who has a year left on his Lions contract, enjoyed a fine season with Millwall last term in helping them reach the League One play-off final only to lose to Scunthorpe.
The former Liverpool youngster's performances have not gone unnoticed at both home and abroad, with ambitious Belgian side Genk having enquired about his availability.
Whitbread's agent, Kevin Moran, has confirmed they have made an enquiry for the 25-year-old stopper.
"It is true that Genk have made an enquiry for Zak," Moran told skysports.com.
"They are in Europe next season and they have expressed an interest in him.
"They have made an enquiry to Millwall, but that is as far as it goes at the minute."
