Oldham Athletic have moved to reject claims that Chris Taylor and Neal Eardley have been made available for sale.
Media reports speculated the duo had been transfer-listed by the League One club in a bid to raise funds.
However, Oldham have stressed that Taylor, who only recently signed a new contract with the Latics, and Eardley's futures lie at Boundary Park.
Chief executive Alan Hardy described the story as "wide of the mark", and added on the club's official website: "I don't know where this story has come from but Chris and Neal have definitely not been put up for sale.
"Transfer-listing the players would not sit well with the club's aim of mounting a push at the top end of League One in 2009/10."
Manager Dave Penney commented: "This story is completely untrue and I look forward to seeing Chris and Neal for pre-season training."
