Brighton & Hove Albion boss Russell Slade insists he wants Glenn Murray to stay at the Withdean Stadium.
Murray has established himself as a key figure for the Seagulls after scoring 19 goals in 44 league appearances since his arrival from Rochdale in January 2008.
But, with Slade having plenty of striking options at his disposal, reports have claimed Brighton could be willing to cash in on Murray over the summer.
Slade has dismissed the rumours and stressed the 25-year-old will be an integral member of his squad in League One next term.
"Glenn has the potential to be one of our top players and I want him to stay at the club," Slade told the Argus.
"If at all possible we need to be building the team around players like Glenn, so in an ideal world he will still be here next season."
