Tranmere Rovers are facing a fight to keep hold of prize asset Charlie Barnett, skysports.com understands.
Barnett was a key player in Tranmere's bid to reach the play-offs only to agonisingly miss out to Scunthorpe on the last day of the season.
The 20-year-old former Liverpool youth star is out of contract in the summer and as yet no new deal has been agreed at Prenton Park.
The news has alerted a number of interested clubs to Barnett's possible availability.
Barnett's agent David Threlfall has confirmed several clubs are tracking the skilful midfielder, but that talks are still ongoing with Tranmere over a possible new deal.
Threlfall said: "I have received enquiries from a number of clubs about Charlie's situation, but talks are ongoing with Tranmere and nothing has been decided as yet."
