Skysports.com understands Dundee United are hoping to sign Huddersfield striker Danny Cadamarteri.

The former Everton and Leicester striker is out of contract in the summer and could leave Huddersfield on a free transfer.

The news has alerted United boss Craig Levein, who signed Cadamarteri during his time in charge at Leicester.

Huddersfield have offered Cadamarteri a new deal and the player's agent Neil Sang admits the 29-year-old is weighing up his options before making a decision on his future.

"Dundee United have shown an interest in Danny and they have made enquiries about him," Sang told skysports.com.

"Huddersfield are also keen to keep him and they have put in an offer of a new deal.

"Danny is out of contract in the summer and he has a big decision to make.

"He is now weighing up his options and seeing what offer best suits him."
