Versatile defender suffers medial ligament tear

Peterborough have been rocked by the news that Tom Williams will be ruled out for the rest of the season. The versatile defender picked up a knee injury during the 2-1 win over Oldham on Saturday and had to be substituted. It has now been discovered that he suffered a medial ligament tear and will not be able to help Posh fight for promotion over the coming weeks. "We found out that it is a bit more serious than we first feared and that is my season over, which is very frustrating and disappointing," he told the club's official website. "It caps a rather frustrating campaign for me to be honest. "I have had a long spell on the sidelines already this term so it is frustrating that my season is over, but hopefully the lads can do the business and when I come back we will be preparing for a campaign in the Championship."
