Midfielder impressing at Prenton Park

Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore has indicated Charlie Barnett is playing his way to a new deal at Prenton Park. Barnett is out of contract in the summer and Rovers could face losing the skilful midfielder to another club if they do not tie him down to a new deal. Former Liverpool youth star Barnett has established himself as a key member of Moore's side in recent weeks after getting a regular run in the side. The 20-year-old has started the last seven games and scored his first goal for the club with a superb effort in the 1-1 draw with Peterborough in midweek. Barnett has been catching the eye in recent weeks and Moore admits the club are planning talks with the player over a contract extension. "Charlie Barnett has done exceptionally well and he is playing his way towards a new deal," Moore told Radio City.
