Midfielder could feature against Shrewsbury at the weekend

Veteran midfielder Dave Brammer is hoping to sign a permanent contract at Port Vale after leaving Millwall. Brammer has recently completed a loan spell at Vale and is now discussing a return to the League Two club. He has agreed a settlement on his contract at Millwall and could be a Vale player in time for Saturday's game against Shrewsbury Town. "I've settled up with Millwall so am a free agent now," Brammer told The Sentinel. "I spoke to Dean Glover a bit last week so am now waiting to see what Vale want to do. "I know the position Vale are in so I will wait and see what they say. Hopefully they will want me to play on Saturday so something will be done some time this week." Meanwhile, Vale boss Glover has also handed a trial to Tranmere Rovers midfielder Adnan Ahmed. The 24-year-old is out of contract at Tranmere at the end of the season and is hoping to secure a deal with Vale.
