Carlisle striker Danny Carlton has joined Darlington on loan until the end of the season.
As revealed by skysports.com earlier this week Darlington have beaten off interest from a host of clubs to land Carlton.
The 25-year-old has struggled to make an impact with the Cumbrians following a 2007 switch from Morecambe.
He rejoined the Shrimps on loan in November and bagged two goals in nine appearances for Sammy McIlroy's side.
However, with first-team football still not guaranteed at Brunton Park, it has been decided that the best option for both parties is for him to seek regular action elsewhere once again.
"I think Darlington are a terrific club and this is a good move for him," Carlisle boss Greg Abbott told the club's official website.
"They are a club that is on the up and they are giving Danny his chance to play regular football and score goals. We can't promise him games at the moment and he wants to be playing football.
"It's important that he pushes his career forward as much as he can, and this move will assist him in doing that."
Meanwhile, Carlisle have also confirmed that Darren Campion's contract has been terminated.
The 21-year-old full-back made just four appearances during his 16-months at the club and was recently loaned out to Workington.
