Scunthorpe United will be without striker Paul Hayes for at least four weeks after he fractured his cheekbone against Alfreton Town.
Hayes, who is The Iron's second leading scorer in League One this season with seven goals to his name, was stretchered off after eight minutes following a clash of heads with Kyle McFadzean.
Although the League One high-flyers went on to win the match 4-0 and secure a place in the third round of the FA Cup, manager Nigel Adkins was left lamenting Hayes' injury.
"An injury like that normally means a minimum of four weeks out of action," Adkins told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.
Hayes will now miss this weekend's clash against second-placed MK Dons along with upcoming games against Northampton and Colchester United.
