Hereford United have snapped up Josh Gowling on loan from fellow League One side Carlisle United.
Gowling has made just six appearances for Carlisle since joining the club on a two-year contract from Bournemouth in the summer.
He suffered a broken nose at the start of the season and has struggled to force his way into the team on a regular basis.
Carlisle's caretaker boss Greg Abbott feels the centre-half will benefit from his time at Hereford, where he will stay until 3rd January.
"Again, this will give the player the opportunity to get some regular first-team football under his belt," Abbott told the club's official website.
"That wasn't quite happening for Josh here with us at the moment, so this move will provide that opening for him."
