New Cheltenham boss Martin Allen has wasted little time in attempting to reshape his ranks after placing six players on the transfer list.
The Whaddon Road chief has quickly assessed his squad upon succeeding Keith Downing and arrived at the conclusion a shake-up is needed.
Defenders Jerry Gill and Lee Ridley, midfielders Craig Armstrong, Andy Lindergaard and Aaron Ledgister and winger Josh Low have all been informed their futures lie away from the club.
"We need our first XI improved so I have spoken to all of the players personally," he told the club's official website.
"This is nothing to do with their attitudes because all of them have been absolutely first class since I've been here.
"They are all good players and all good lads but I do need to make some changes.
"I'm not prepared to talk about individual cases. The players have been made available for loan and free transfers because we need to freshen things up and the numbers have got to be reduced."
In other news, influential midfielder David Bird has been ruled out for the next eight weeks with a fractured toe he sustained in Saturday's defeat at Millwall.
