Carlisle United midfielder Chris Lumsdon is out for three months due to a back injury.
Lumsdon has not featured during Carlisle's impressive start to the campaign after picking up a back problem in a pre-season friendly with Bury.
He underwent an injection on Friday and Cumbrians boss John Ward does not expect the 29-year-old to return until November.
"Chris has got a problem," Ward told the News & Star. "He has had an injection and that in itself will need six weeks to settle.
"And then probably another six weeks after that to get his fitness back up and going again.
"It's a big blow after a good week and a good day on Saturday. It's a tough one for us because we all like Lummy and he's a big player for us."
