Chesterfield have signed teenage striker Scott Boden on a short-term contract.
Boden was released by Sheffield United earlier this year and has been playing in Finland over the summer.
He has now returned to English football to secure an opportunity with Lee Richardson's side in League Two.
The 17-year-old was on the bench for Tuesday's Carling Cup first round defeat to Preston North End after international clearance was received.
The 2-0 loss at Deepdale also saw Darren Currie make his debut for Chesterfield after his move from Luton Town was finally ratified.
Currie signed a deal with the Spireites last month, but registration issues had prevented him from playing in last Saturday's League Two opener at Barnet.
