Bristol Rovers defender Joe Jacobson will miss the start of the new season due to a knee injury.
The Wales Under 21 international damaged medial ligaments last week during Rovers' pre-season trip to Scandinavia.
Jacobson, who made 50 appearances for Rovers last season after joining from Cardiff City, has been ruled out for eight to 10 weeks
Meanwhile, the club's director of football Lennie Lawrence says there could be changes to the squad before the season starts.
Lawrence told the Bristol Evening Post: "In terms of senior players, it's not inconceivable that we could get one more in and one or two more out.
"There is plenty of work still to be done and this is the busiest period of the year for us.
"I can't see there being massive changes in our ranks by the time we kick off, but there could be one or two."
