Downing sets sights on Carlisle striker
Cheltenham manager Keith Downing is hopeful of pushing through a deal for Carlisle striker Kevin Gall.
The former Bristol Rovers forward is available on a free transfer from Brunton Park and Downing has already made an approach for his services.
Gall fell out of favour with Cumbrians boss John Ward last season but Downing is a keen admirer and wants to snap him up as quickly as possible.
He said: "We've got permission from Carlisle to speak to Kevin and we will be doing that in the next couple of days.
"He is available on a free and he is one that interests me."
