Former Sunderland defender to be offered Coventry contract

Coventry City are ready to offer former Sunderland full-back Stephen Wright a contract. Wright has been training with the Sky Blues for the past fortnight after being released by Sunderland at the end of last season. He has impressed Sky Blues manager Chris Coleman and the 28-year-old will be offered the chance to stay at the Ricoh Arena. "I will be speaking to Stephen because I would like to keep him here," Coleman told the Coventry Evening Telegraph. "He has done well for us, he is an out-and-out right-back and a free agent. "He has been with us for two weeks and we like him, we hope he likes us and I will be speaking to him about taking it further." Wright had been at the Stadium of Light for six years, but was overlooked by Roy Keane and spent the first half of last season on loan at Stoke City.
