Savage in Rovers talks

Millwall striker Bas Savage is set to discuss terms with Tranmere Rovers following a formal bid.

Striker reluctant to leave but also a realist

Striker Bas Savage could soon be swapping the Den for Prenton Park. The Millwall player will discuss terms with fellow League One outift Tranmere Rovers after manager Ronnie Moore made a formal bid last weekend. While reluctant to leave, the 26-year-old believes he may be surplus to Millwall boss Kenny Jackett's requirements. If so, he could seal a move as he does not want to be without employment in January.

Sign

He told the South London Press: "If (manager) Kenny (Jackett) is happy for me to talk to Tranmere it is a sign I am not going to be first choice next season. "I have the option of another six months with Millwall but I don't want to end up with no club in January, and be out of the game for a couple of months, which is what happened last year. "We'll see what happens. If it does come to it, I will be very sorry to leave Millwall because Kenny helped me a lot and I really enjoyed my time there."
