Walsall have signed Jabo Ibehre after the striker was released by League One rivals Leyton Orient.
Ibehre was not offered a new contract by Orient at the end of last season after spending his entire career with the club.
He has now accepted a one-year deal with Walsall and Saddlers boss Jimmy Mullen is confident the 25-year-old can make an impact.
"It's nice to get a centre-forward in," Mullen told the club's official website. "He's only 25, but has bags of experience.
"He's tall, powerful, quick and, more importantly, has an eye for goal.
"I didn't think that he would become available, but when he did we quickly went in for him. I believe that we can get even more out of him.
"Our patience has been rewarded with this signing. Players don't want to be rushed into making decisions and hopefully we'll be able to add another three or four new faces in the days ahead."
