Craig Armstrong has accepted a new one-year contract to stay at Cheltenham Town.
The 33-year-old, who can play in defence or midfield, is in his second spell with Cheltenham and has agreed to stay next season.
He originally left the Robins last summer for Gillingham, only to return to Whaddon Road earlier this year to help the club survive in League One.
Robins assistant manager Bob Bloomer told the club's official website: "Craig showed his value to the team last season with his vast experience and versatility when he came back from Gillingham.
"His return to the club certainly enhanced the squad and he played a big part in helping us to stay in League One.
"I'm really pleased that he has re-signed and hopefully he can have as big an impact next season.
"Craig is the sort of character who will chat to anyone and he has also proved very valuable to us in imparting his experience to younger players, so that is another reason why we were keen for him to stay with us."
