Bournemouth's longest-serving player Neil Young has announced his decision to retire at the end of the season.
The 34-year-old defender is in his 14th season with the Cherries and after racking up over 400 appearances for the South Coast club, Young has decided to call it a day.
The veteran has revealed plans to emigrate to Australia in the summer to take up a post with a soccer school in Adelaide.
Young told the Daily Echo: "I've always wanted to move into coaching and this is a great opportunity for me to stay in the game.
"At my age, it was something I couldn't turn down."
Survival bid
Young has been troubled with a niggling ankle injury this season, but could yet return to play a significant part in the League One club's survival bid.
"I spoke to the manager (Kevin Bond) on Tuesday and told him about my plans.
"I also told him that he would have my full commitment for the rest of the season if he needs me.
"But the main thing is for Bournemouth to stay in this division and the team comes before any player."
