Toronto move called off

Kevin Gall has turned down a move to MLS outfit Toronto FC, skysports.com can confirm. The Welsh born-forward has been on trial in the Canadian capital and he impressed Toronto's management, led by former Newcastle coach John Carver. Toronto already have a strong British presence in their squad, with current Welsh international Carl Robinson and English striker Danny Dichio plying their trade abroad. Gall was offered terms by the MLS, who hold all contracts for their clubs, but he rejected the deal on offer.

No deal

"It was just a case of us not agreeing terms," his agent Wayne Elsey told skysports.com. "Kevin was keen to go and he did very well, but we could not finalise the move." Gall, who recently spent time at promotion chasing League Two outfit Darlington, is now back with Carlisle United. The 26-year-old has over a year left on his current deal at Brunton Park, but his future looks to lie away from Cumbria. "A host of clubs are keen on Kevin and we hope to have his future resolved at the end of the season," confirmed Elsey.
