Oldham striker Lee Hughes is set to miss the rest of the season through injury.
The former West Brom star has been struggling with a niggling groin complaint for some time and scans have shown he requires surgery to correct the problem.
Hughes is set to go under the knife next week and it is expected to sideline him for up to three months.
The 31-year-old is already setting his sights on being fully fit for pre-season training in preparation for next season.
"I will be giving it 110 per cent in the summer to get my fitness back and look forward to a good pre-season," Hughes told the Manchester Evening News
