Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has decided against offering Port Vale midfielder Craig Rocastle a permanent contract at Priestfield.
Rocastle, who joined Gillingham on loan last month, made just two appearances during his time at the club.
Stimson chose not to offer the 26-year-old midfielder a permanent switch after he failed to build on his debut performance against Huddersfield.
"It's a shame things haven't worked out for Rocky because I believe he has good ability," said Stimson.
"He came here hoping to be offered a permanent deal and did well for us at Huddersfield, but since then his performances have not reached the level we require.
"I wish him well with his future but that future will not be here at Gillingham."
