Keeper and midfielder suffer setbacks

Oldham duo Les Pogliacomi and JP Kalala are facing spells on the sidelines after picking up injuries. Keeper Pogliacomi has struggled with a succession of knee injuries after losing his place in the side to Mark Crossley and underwent an operation before Christmas to try and resolve the problem. However, after breaking down in training earlier this week, a further medical assessment has revealed that more surgery is required which could now rule him out for the remainder of the season. The news comes a massive disappointment to Pogliacomi, who despite not making a first-team appearance during the current campaign, had been back on the bench in recent weeks and was looking to oust Crossley from the No.1 jersey.

Kalala blow

Meanwhile, Congo international midfielder JP Kalala has suffered a double injury blow and looks set to be out for up to three weeks. Kalala was forced to limp out of Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Swansea and left the Liberty Stadium on crutches. After assessing the severity of the injuries, extensive damage to his knee and ankle has been revealed and he is not expected to feature again for John Sheridan's side this month.
