Veteran striker joins until end of season

Doncaster Rovers have boosted their squad with the signing of Gareth Taylor from League One rivals Tranmere Rovers. The veteran striker has moved to the Keepmoat Stadium until the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal. He had scored four goals for Tranmere this term, but Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll expects Taylor to be a valuable addition to his side's promotion push. "There were a couple of younger players that we talked about that could be for the future," O'Driscoll told the club's official website. "Gareth, like Stuart Elliott, is experienced and has played at the top level. "It also probably gives us something that, apart from Jason (Price) that we haven't got. He adds to the squad and makes us stronger overall." Doncaster had signed Stuart Elliott from Hull City earlier in the day, while Tranmere allowed Taylor to move on after bringing Ian Moore back to the club.
